Your Path to Totality: Experience the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse in East Central Indiana

The last Solar Eclipse until August 2044 is heading to cast its shadow over East Central Indiana on April 8, 2024! Positioned directly in the path of totality, our nine-county region promises the best view to witness the total solar eclipse, with 4 minutes of complete darkness during daylight.

During your visit, you’ll have the flexibility to explore diverse festivities leading up to the main event. From concerts and family-friendly activities to polka bands, costume parties, candlelight tours, car shows, parades, fireworks, and delightful culinary experiences from a multitude of food trucks, there’s something for everyone. So, extend your stay and turn it into a weekend adventure to experience all that ECI has to offer!

Delaware County Fairgrounds

Visit for a family weekend full of intrigue, excitement, local food, and entertainment that everyone can enjoy!

The Academy of Model Aeronautics

The Academy of Model Aeronautics is the world’s largest Aviation Club! Amenities include tent camping, RV camping, bathrooms, shuttle service, and the AMA museum. There will be a Solar Fun Fly Open fun fly at the MARCS field located 2 miles from the center of the “Path of Totality” eclipse, and more.

Prairie Creek Reservoir

Book your exclusive Viewing Space at Prairie Creek Reservoir and have the chance to see the Eclipse reflected in the water. Amenities include tent camping, cabins, RV spots, parking, a playground, bathrooms, fishing, walking trails, and more! Note: Not all viewing locations directly overlook the water. Specify your desired amenities when booking.

Alquina Blue Arrows Park

Join one of the area’s most scenic views at a Solar Eclipse Picnic. Pack your own or visit their concessions for out-of-this-world snacks, games and more!

MoonPie Eclipse Party

Johns Brothers General Store is celebrating in a BIG way with a MoonPie Eclipse Party! Join downtown Connersville and celebrate with MoonPie, food, music, and more!

Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary

Join Indiana Audubon for an afternoon of discovery at the Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary. Through the Solar Eclipse periods of 2pm-4pm, staff and volunteers will be on hand with opportunities to view the solar eclipse outside Brooks Hall, and hourly nature hikes to explore how our wildlife is affected by the eclipse in real time!

Handfield Global Methodist Church & Ivy Tech Marion:

Viewers located in Grant County will experience a total eclipse! Viewing locations as of date include Handfield Global Methodist Church and Ivy Tech Marion. Food vendors, public restrooms and entertainment will be on site. Entertainment will also be hosted at Gas City Concerts at the Park and at Fairmount Concerts at the Stage, James Dean Memorial Stage. Summit Lake State Park

Come early to the park with your family to have a great view of this once in a lifetime event! NOTE: This event is first come, first serve. Small canopy tents are allowed. Camping or other structures/tent set up is only allowed in the campground.

Henry County Saddle Club

RV eclipse enthusiasts are invited to join the Watch Party at the Henry County Saddle Club April 4-9. Over 400 hookups are available, with prices starting at $35/day. The Saddle Club Cafe will be open daily and tack and clothing vendors will be on site as well. All site reservations must be made online and paid by March 29.

Knightstown Solar Eclipse

The town of Knightstown will be celebrating the total eclipse with a concert, alien parade, food and much more!

Total Eclipse at Farmers Pike

Farmer’s Pike, the perfect spot away from city lights, is offering camping with electric sites starting on Friday, April 5. The Indigos will perform on Saturday, April 6 and Cook & Bell perform on Sunday, April 7. The Indigos return again to perform April 8. There will be food, activities, venders, and games each day plus a laser show during the main concert each night.

Jay County Fairgrounds

Join a fun-filled weekend of dueling pianos, a smash house, and other great entertainment! Plenty of parking and vast open space to view the eclipse. On-site camping is available!

Winchester Speedway

Winchester Speedway will be buzzing with activities to watch the solar eclipse such as music, food, cornhole tournaments, 5K run, and more!

Modoc Gardens

Witness the eclipse at Modoc Gardens with 4 different camping options from pitch your own tent to Glamping for Saturday 4/6 through Tuesday 4/9 with a fun exclusive itinerary for all campers. There will be live music, a food truck, family games & Bingo with prizes, interaction with the farm animals, a movie night, a roller rink night, a specialty speaker day of eclipse, and special viewing glasses provided.

Benjamin Rush Middle School Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

The school is hosting an unforgettable solar eclipse viewing extravaganza with concessions and free viewing glasses while supplies last.

Get Eclipsed at the Bacon Farmily Camp
