Ball State University Accepting Proposals for Community Engagement for the Arts Grant

March 2, 2022

Ball State University’s Office of Community Engagement is now accepting proposals for its Community Engagement for the Arts Grant. This annual competitive grant program provides funding up to $35,000 to an East Central Indiana community arts-focused organization or program.

To apply for the grant, community arts organizations should propose projects that encourage public appreciation of art and education in the arts, promote diversity within the local arts community, and make the arts accessible to all.

“The Community Engagement for the Arts Grant affirms the commitment made in Ball State’s strategic plan to engage and lead partnerships that revitalize our region,” said Dr. Seth Beckman, dean of Ball State’s College of Fine Arts. “This grant will provide funding for projects that meld Ball State’s priorities and strengths with those of community organizations to deliver novel, engaging experiences that promote the arts.”

Applicants for the Community Engagement for the Arts Grant must be nonprofit organizations or public entities located within the East Central Indiana region: Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Grant, Henry, Jay, Randolph, Rush, and Wayne counties. To be considered, proposals must outline a specific, arts-focused project, event, or series that is accessible by the public and has a strong community component.

Proposals should align with Ball State’s commitment to engaging with the greater arts community of East Central Indiana by promoting broad participation and equitable access to the various community arts organizations in the region.

Grant proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. ET on Friday, April 8, 2022. To apply for the grant, or for more information, visit the 2022 Community Engagement for the Arts Grant Application website.
